Placing the viola centre stage in his performances, Palestinian violist Samer Rashed returns to London with his band to showcase his latest album ‘Tales of the Gypsy Jazz’.

Acclaimed viola player and composer, Samer Rashed has performed in concerts and festivals across Europe and the Arabic-speaking world. Most notably, he has performed at the Proms Festival in London, Lebanon’s Beiteddine Art with Marcel Khalife, and at the World Jazz Festival in Germany.

Rashed now returns to London to perform “Tales of the Gypsy Jazz”, his well-received second album that introduces, once again, the unprecedented employment of the viola in the genre, accompanied by instruments such as the buzuq and accordion.

For this June date expect a rich musical experience as high-energy pieces are juxtaposed by the more tranquil tales from the album, all expertly composed to include an original Arabic twist to the unique genre of gypsy jazz.
